SOURCE MATERIAL for BRACHERS of TISBURY

The analysis presented here is generally based on Parish
Register transcription and wills, although I have tried to tie the analysis up
to 1851 and 1841 census records too. Gaslight Genealogy offers a different analysis
to mine, but I am unsure on what grounds and scope his analysis are based.
The following PR were obtained from Wiltshire Family History Society:
Tisbury baptisms 1562 – 1837 (1645–1647 missing)
Tisbury burials 1562 – 1837 (1642-1653 missing)
Ansty baptisms & burials1654 – 1837
Chilmark baptisms & burials 1611 – 1837
Sutton Mandeville baptisms & burials 1622 – 1837 (1638-1654 missing)

Wiltshire OPC website gave me access to baptisms and burials in Semley and Sedgehill. Somerset and Dorset OPCs also gave some birth and death information. Otherwise I have used www.ancestry.co.uk and www.findmypast.co.uk (particularly the Wiltshire memorial inscription index and Sarum marriages).
I also bought a copy of the SW Wilts Parish Marriages to 1837 published jointly by Wilts Family History Society and Nimrod Research.
The following 83 wills were obtained, mainly from Wilts and Swindon Archive but some from The National Archive (TNA) and a couple from www.ancestry.co.uk . Finally I trawled the TNA catalogue looking for relevant lease information.
